Understanding Group Rx Status Defaults

There are 15 Group Rx Statuses available for a non-retail prescription. Depending on the Group Rx Status chosen:

• The prescription billing and status can be changed (Table 1).

• The prescription can appear on administration reports (Table 2).

Table 1. Summary of prescription effects by Group Rx Status.

Group Rx Status	Prescription Effects
All government statuses (F, G, N, R, T, V)	Does not generate billing (no cost, markup, or fee) or deduct inventory. Follows a separate Rx # sequence. Cannot be refilled in a batch (except T).
C, P, Z	Does not generate billing (no cost, markup, or fee) or deduct inventory.
I	Inactivates the prescription.

For the Group Rx Statuses listed for Amend Next prescriptions, the original Rx (without the Amend Next changes) will appear on the reports.
